Binatone Galaxy

This CD, released in January 2012 on senufo editions, comprises a variety of non-documentary auditory perspectives on Binatone Galaxy, an installation for twenty eight portable cassette recorders loaded with self-amplifying tapes. Tracks 01 to 07 are all trios and quartets, assembled from studio recordings of individual machines made at my Bristol studio. Track 08 was recorded at the SARU, Oxford and presents the acoustic sound of the massed machines switched on and off by the built-in motion sensors which activate the work.
